O.O.A.T. ROVER
How can we discover something new in nature?
We took the idea of the mission of the rover in mars, and just like the rover we would go into a natural site with a blank canvas. We wrote a program for each sensory unit to collect what the programmers wanted.
With the program of the mission and the site and schedule set, we designed the O.O.A.T. rover with individual attention to each sensory unit: Optical, Olfactory, Auditory and Tactile. By doing this we were no longer tied to what we though was a natural feature, we were programed to do a task.
After documenting, gathering, and collecting samples from the site, we had to relay our findings into a print format. Again we took a similar approach to design a print format that would reveal another information through a cut square when overlayed with another print document. It was challenging to take another step with a blank mind, and try to visualize and make it systematic of the samples we brought as an O.O.A.T. rover.
This project was more of a different design process and approach to share our findings.
